Ray Sheehan & The Midnight Players

Ray Sheehan and The Midnight Players started the evening at Union Fire House with an outstanding cover from Bruce Springsteen. The Midnight Players enhanced Ray’s guitar-driven style with their rhythm and piano skills. Ray’s original songs had a heartland rock vibe, showcasing impressive guitar riffs and well-executed solos. If you’re a fan of heartland rock artists, Ray Sheehan could become your new favorite.

Butchering Cassidy

From the moment they stepped onstage, Butchering Cassidy showed how much emotion they put into their music. The entire band had a killer stage presence, but lead vocalist Zach gave it his all, using the stage as his own personal playground. Butchering Cassidy’s music was intense and aggressive, with graphic lyrics, complex guitar riffs, and dynamic drumming. Their songs were melodic, providing listeners with an introspective look into both social and personal struggles. If post-hardcore is your favorite genre, you may fall in love with Butchering Cassidy.

Smother Nature

Smother Nature, a 3-piece alternative band, impressed the crowd with their covers of “Hysteria” and “Song for the Dead”, showcasing a love for Muse and Queens of the Stone Age. Lead vocalist Bobby delivered a powerful and soulful performance, reminiscent of Kings of Leon frontman Caleb Followill. Guitarist Mark showcased his skills through intricate guitar solos, infusing his playing with immense emotion. Drummer Alex maintained constant rhythm, putting his all into drumming and even singing backup on a few songs. Smother Nature was all-around impressive, and I highly recommend seeing them live.

The Goodbyes

The Goodbyes headlined, playing a mix of original songs and covers. Lead singer Jess had strong vocals, full of emotion, and great range. The Goodbyes’ lead guitarist was quite impressive, really showing his skill with some spectacular solos. They delivered a stellar cover of “Sugar, We’re Goin Down” by Fall Out Boy. The Goodbyes were a well-rounded group with a lot of personality and were the perfect end to a rock-filled night at Union Fire House.
